President Obama now using Facebook Timeline

msnbc.com

By Suzanne Choney

Many of us have not wanted to get anywhere near Facebook's Timeline, but President Obama has adopted the new feature. (He's not the first politician to do so, although he is the most prominent one: Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich switched his Facebook profile to Timeline some weeks back, but contenders Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul are behind, at least in this race.)

Timeline lets users share as much or as little as they want, year by year, about their personal history, travels and past Facebook postings. You can even start with the year you were born (if you want to share that information, which we recommend against doing).

Feel free to peruse the president's Timeline. But be sure not to miss his wry look at his own birth information, which has been an ongoing issue by some of his most-extreme opponents who don't believe the president was really born in Hawaii, but think he was born outside the U.S. and is not eligible to hold the office of president.

Here's what the president has on his Timeline where it refers to "Born":

Note the "Made in the USA" reference.
