If you ask my sweet little?kindergartner, Lily, "What do you want to be when you grow up?", she'll quickly reply "An artist!".? She's also a girl that craves a little color and like most girls her age, her choice is hot pink?and?I have to admit, since most of our?home is neutrals, it's super fun to inject some happy color...?
Since moving into our home, Lily's been craving a little place where she can come home from school, work on her homework (which she loves to do), and color to her heart's content...
and I've finally finished it for her this last week.? She was a happy little girl when she came home from school to find all her craft supplies, stickers, notebooks, etc all organized in little buckets and boxes...
I've actually had this little $60?desk for a while, but it's taken a bit to get it done as I needed to get the color scheme for Lily's new room all figured out.? Here's the before...
Here's the after with two coats of ASCP Pure White chalk paint Behr's Watermelon Pink for the accents...?
It also took a bit to find just the right chair, but this $5 find was worth waiting for...
Of course, it didn't look like this before... picture horrendous mustard/gold fabric that had seen better days!? A little watermelon pink houndstooth fabric, some fun pom-poms and buttons for tufting, and it's?now a sweet little seat for my little?Lily.?
But Lily will say that her favorite part of her new art desk is a special little chalk area that I made with hot pink chalkboard paint where there used to be leather on this old desk...?
When she came to me to ask how to spell "going" and "get", I knew she was up to something...
That girls knows how to melt her mommy's heart!
?All in all, this whole art wall came in around $100...cuteness on a budget!
